Editorial biography
Norman L. Geisler (1932-2019) was an influential American Christian philosopher, theologian, and apologist who made substantial contributions to evangelical philosophy of religion and apologetics. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Loyola University and authored or co-authored over 90 books defending Christian theism. Geisler was particularly known for his work in classical apologetics, advocating for the use of reason and evidence to establish God's existence before arguing for Christian revelation. His systematic approach combined Thomistic philosophy with evangelical theology, emphasizing rational arguments for theism including cosmological and teleological proofs. In "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" (2004), co-authored with Frank Turek, he presented a comprehensive case against naturalism and for Christian theism. Geisler's work significantly shaped contemporary evangelical apologetics and philosophy of religion.
