Editorial biography
John Frame (1939-present) is an American philosopher and Reformed theologian who has significantly influenced contemporary presuppositional apologetics and systematic theology. Educated at Westminster Seminary Philadelphia under Cornelius Van Til, Frame served as professor at Westminster Seminary California and later at Reformed Theological Seminary Orlando. His major contribution lies in developing a "triperspectival" approach to knowledge and theology, analyzing concepts through normative, situational, and existential perspectives. His four-volume Theology of Lordship series represents a comprehensive systematic theology from a Reformed perspective. Frame has written extensively on the relationship between divine sovereignty and human knowledge, arguing that all human thought presupposes God's existence and revelation. His work bridges Van Tillian presuppositionalism with contemporary philosophical discussions, addressing epistemology, ethics, and the nature of divine authority. Frame's accessible writing style and engagement with both classical and contemporary thought has made Reformed theology more approachable to broader evangelical audiences.
