Editorial biography
Timothy Hsiao is an American philosopher specializing in ethics and philosophy of religion. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Missouri and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Grantham University. His work on the existence of God focuses on defending classical theistic arguments, particularly the cosmological argument and arguments from consciousness. Hsiao has published articles examining the relationship between naturalism and morality, arguing that objective moral values provide evidence for theism. His research also addresses divine command theory and the grounding problem for atheistic ethics. In addition to his work in philosophy of religion, Hsiao has written on applied ethics topics including punishment theory and animal ethics. His scholarship appears in journals such as Journal of Religious Ethics, Philosophia Christi, and Think: Philosophy for Everyone.
