Editorial biography
Anthony Buzzard (1935-) is a British-American biblical unitarian theologian and founder of the Restoration Fellowship. Educated at Oxford University, he has devoted his career to challenging orthodox Trinitarian doctrine through biblical exegesis and historical analysis. His most influential work, "Jesus Was Not a Trinitarian" (2007), argues that neither Jesus nor his earliest followers conceived of God as a Trinity, presenting this doctrine as a later Hellenistic development incompatible with Jewish monotheism. Buzzard advocates for a return to what he considers authentic biblical Christology, wherein Jesus is the human Messiah rather than a divine person within the Godhead. His writings have significantly influenced contemporary biblical unitarian movements and sparked renewed debate about early Christian beliefs regarding the nature of God and Christ's identity.
