Editorial biography
Douglas Farrow is a Canadian theologian and philosopher who holds the Kennedy Smith Chair in Catholic Studies at McGill University. Born in 1961, Farrow has made significant contributions to systematic theology, political theology, and bioethics from a distinctly Christian perspective. His work engages critically with secular modernity while defending traditional Christian doctrines, particularly regarding the Incarnation, Ascension, and their implications for understanding divine-human relations. His major works include "Ascension and Ecclesia" (1999) and "Theological Negotiations" (2018), which explore how Christian theology can address contemporary challenges without compromising core beliefs. Farrow's scholarship bridges Catholic and Protestant thought, offering robust defenses of Christian orthodoxy against both religious liberalism and secular materialism. He has been particularly influential in debates about religious freedom, human dignity, and the public role of Christian faith in pluralistic societies.
