Editorial biography
Ronald D. Rauser is a Canadian theologian and philosopher of religion who serves as Professor of Historical Theology at Taylor Seminary in Edmonton, Alberta. He received his PhD in philosophical theology from King's College London. Rauser has made significant contributions to contemporary Christian apologetics and the philosophy of religious belief, particularly in addressing skeptical challenges to theism. His work engages with issues including the problem of evil, religious epistemology, and the rationality of Christian faith. Beyond Christian Philosophy A-Z (2006), he has authored numerous books including The Swedish Atheist, the Scuba Diver and Other Apologetic Rabbit Trails (2012) and Is the Atheist My Neighbor? (2015). Rauser advocates for a more nuanced and charitable approach to apologetics, criticizing both fundamentalist Christianity and aggressive atheism while defending a progressive evangelical perspective on theological and philosophical questions.
